MriiaFilms now lets filmmakers easily set up workshops, classes, and small events using the same project tools you already know. No need for separate apps—just create a project, post it to the community board, and manage applicants in one place.
This simplifies collaboration for things like lighting workshops, acting classes, or community screenings. Choose "Workshop" or "Event" to auto-hide irrelevant features like contracts or call sheets.
Step 1: Create a Workshop Project

Start by treating your workshop as a lightweight project. 1. Click "Add Project" and name it (e.g., "Light Workshop"). Edit anytime. 2. In settings, select "Workshop" (hides contracts, scene breakdowns) or "Event" (limits attendee visibility). 3. Keep what you need: tasks, crew list, script, props, mood board, rentals, locations.
Workshops stay simple—focus on team tasks and weekly collaboration.
Step 2: Post to Community Board
Turn your project into a public event post.

- Go to Community Board > Create Post.
- Select your Workshop project (e.g., "Light Workshop").
- Add details: "Thursdays: Meet up and learn lighting on set."
- Set date/time (e.g., March 5th, 6:00 PM, 1 hour), spots (20 max), location/address.
- Toggle Auto-confirm attendees (free entry, instant approval) or manual review.

Step 3: Manage Applicants & Team
- Handle sign-ups seamlessly inside the project.
- View applicants in the Crew tab (same as casting).
- Add confirmed people to Crew—they get instant access.
- Everyone collaborates: assign tasks, tag in announcements, share mood boards/scripts.
- For weekly workshops: add recurring events to calendar, track rentals/locations.

Switch modes anytime in project settings to control access.
Pro Tips for Recurring Events
- Use tasks for homework (e.g., "Review lighting script").
- Tag crew in weekly announcements.
- Add rentals/contacts for gear/locations.
- Link to your synced calendar for reminders.
